Helen Woolner

Helen creates both hand built & thrown ceramics, mostly one-off studio pieces and sculptures, often looking at the human form and vessel structures.

She uses the raku firing technique (a low temperature rapid firing process) to achieve bold metallic colouring and textured glazed surfaces, but also makes domestic wares and larger sculptural work which is fired to stoneware temperatures in an electric kiln.

Working from her purpose built ceramics studio she also runs several daytime & evening classes & short courses - beginners always welcome.
