Alison Ranson
Alison’s artist’s statement: “I love the calming rhythm of hand stitch, the pulling of needle through fabric, the images evoking a special memory or moment seen through the eyes of an interested observer.”
Her work revolves around special memories of her children, worked primarily in dyed scrim embellished onto linen with some paint and then hand embroidery to add detail and structure to the image.
She is also a member of ISE - an exhibiting textile artists’ group, whose current mentor is Matthew Harris.
